Nights and Weekends Out of Hours Emergencies

If you require emergency medical attention please dial 999 immediately. If you have an urgent medical problem which cannot wait until the surgery re-opens, please dial 1-1-1. NHS 111 is free to call from both landlines and mobiles. If you call 111 and you are told that the service is not yet available in your area, please dial 0203 402 1319 and you will be connected.

The Minor Injuries Unit at Queen Mary’s Hospital is open:

Monday to Sunday 8:00am to 7:00pm

If you have a minor illness or injury like a sprain, bite, infected wound or chest infection. You can also get emergency contraception, advice on healthy living and information about other NHS services. The Minor Injuries Unit benefits from having full access to X-ray facilities at the hospital.

Telephone 020 8487 6999 or 020 8487 6499. However, they do not treat children less than two years old or people injured in road traffic accidents, nor do they issue repeat prescriptions

The Walk-in Centre at Teddington Memorial Hospital is open:

  • Monday to Friday 8:00am – 10:00pm
  • Weekends and Bank Holidays 8:00am – 9:00pm

They can help with minor ailments and injuries, emergency contraception or give advice re self help.

Telephone 020 8741 4004. They do not issue repeat prescriptions.

Emergency cover is provided by a service whose number is 03000 240000, this is repeated when you call the normal surgery number. The operator will take your details and arrange for a telephone consultation or a home visit or you may be directed to a walk-in centre. Alternatively advice can be obtained from the NHS by dialling 111

If you are calling on behalf of someone else please have relevant information available, such as:

  • address
  • date of birth
  • current medication
  • name of their GP.

If considered necessary you will be referred to a duty Doctor or Nurse Practitioner who will contact you and, either give further telephone advice, or ask you to attend a local centre or in appropriate circumstances visit you at home.
